We present to your attention a preservative for cosmetic products Salimix K-100
Salimix K-100 is a liquid preservative for cosmetics that can be used in rinse-off and leave-on cosmetic products. Approved for use in both rinse-off and leave-on finish products.
It is not recommended to include Salimix K-100 in the composition of lipsticks, toothpastes or products that come into contact with mucous membranes. This preservative has a wide balanced spectrum of action against various bacteria, fungi and mold spores. Effective at low concentration.
Composition according to EU (US) INCI (active ingredients)
- benzyl alcohol (CAS-number 100-51-6)- methylchloroisothiazolinone (CAS-number 26172-55-4)- methylisothiazolinone (CAS-number 2682-20-4)
Microbiological efficiency
Salimix K-100 equally effective against various bacteria, fungi and mold spores. Salimix K-100 is a typical biological activity inhibitor with biocidal properties. For this preservative, a minimum of 48 hours is required to effectively kill microorganisms in an already contaminated end product. Since the preservative fights microorganisms by reacting chemically with them, in highly contaminated environments, a decrease in the content of active ingredients may occur, which must also be taken into account and the dosage calculated accordingly. Of course, the proper level of industrial hygiene, as well as the use of raw materials with a minimum level of microbiological contamination, quality control of raw materials, are the primary preventive measures to obtain a microbiologically safe end product.

General recommendations for the percentage of Salimix K-100 Cosmetic Preservative in the final product
Each time, the percentage of the introduction of a preservative into the composition of the final product is individual and depends on the sensitivity of the final product to microbiological contamination, the quality of the raw materials used and the hygiene of the production process.
The effectiveness of the optimal concentration of preservative in the final product must always be determined by appropriate laboratory tests, the responsibility in this case lies entirely with the manufacturer of the final product, since the manufacturer of the preservative cannot control the quality of the final product, its characteristics, the raw materials used and the hygiene of the production process.
The preservative input range ranges from 0.05-0.1% for leave-in products, and 0.05-0.015% for rinse-off products, the maximum allowable input is 0.2%.
General instructions for the introduction of preservative for cosmetic products Salimix K-100
The preservative is recommended to be introduced during the cooling phase of the product, when the medium temperature is not higher than 40°C. As practice shows, it is convenient to introduce a preservative into the final product simultaneously with the introduction of a fragrance.
The introduction of a preservative into media with a pH level exceeding 8.0 should be avoided. The preservative is equally effective in both anionic and cationic and nononogenic media. Salimix K-100 preservative distributes better in water/oil systems than conventional water soluble preservatives
Storage
It is recommended to store the preservative in the original container at room temperature.
